Azerbaijan arrests Armenian sabotage agent

Azerbaijani military units arrested a member of an Armenian reconnaissance and sabotage group on January 28, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry said.
The Armenian reconnaissance and sabotage group attempted to cross the contact line of troops on January 28 at 15:00, in the direction of the Alibayli village of Azerbaijan's Tovuz district.
This attempt was prevented as a result of vigilance of Azerbaijani military units stationed at the contact line.
Following a brief skirmish, the reconnaissance and sabotage group retreated.
As a result of the retreat, the group's guide Khojayan Mamika, who was armed and wounded, was arrested by Azerbaijani soldiers.
Currently, the detained Armenian is being investigated.
Recently the situation on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops has escalated. In recent days the Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire over 1000 times.
The Ministry said on January 29 the ceasefire has been violated on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops in different positions 250 times a day.
Armenian armed units fired on the positions of Azerbaijan in Alibeyli village of Tovuz region from their posts in Ayqepar village of Armenia's Berd region and positions in Kohnegishlag village of Aghstafa region from their posts in Paravakar village of Noyemberyan.
Armenians also fired on the positions of Azerbaijani Armed Forces from their posts near Horadiz, Garakhanbeyli, Gorgan, Ashagi Seyidahmedli, Ashagi Veyselli and Ashagi Abdulrahmanli villages of Fuzuli region, Merzili, Yusifjanli, Bash Gervend, Shikhlar, Shuraabad, Javahirli and Sarijali villages of Aghdam region, Chayli, Goyarkh, Chilaburt and Gizil Oba villages of Terter region, Kuropatkino village of Khojavend region, Tapqaragoyunlu and Gulustan villages of Goranboy region, Mehdili village of Jabrayil region and nameless uplands.
The shooting was countered by return fire.
