Red Cross representatives visit Azerbaijani soldier in Armenian capture

Employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia visited Azerbaijani soldier Faradjev Firuz Mirza oglu who is in captivity in Armenia, ICRC Azerbaijani representative Ilaha Huseynova said on July 1.
The Red Cross representatives handed the soldier a message from his family and received a message to his family.
According to her, the meeting with Faradjev was held on June 28.
21-year old Faradjev Firuz, the soldier of the N-military unit of the Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry, get lost in the contact line between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops near Tovuz region, and was captured by the Armenian Armed Forces.
The message by Faradjev came to his family. However, it was not reported, whether it was oral message or in written form.
The conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 per cent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France and the U.S. - are currently holding peace negotiations.
Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
