Korean experts in Azerbaijan to work on intellectual property rights project

A group of Korean experts are visiting Azerbaijan from January 5 to February 2 to conduct a pilot operation of the project implemented by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

The cooperation project is implemented under the agreement on Automation of Intellectual Property Rights Management System signed in October 2011.

The project's main objectives are to improve the efficiency and productivity in the intellectual property rights management to provide better services for the public and to ensure sustainability of IPR System in Azerbaijan by computerizing registration, examination and publication processes at the State Committee.

Korean experts will also collect and confirm user requirements, resolve problems arising during the pilot period, and provide customized training programs for both users and operators of the system.

The system development is under the completion at present. All the necessary equipment including regular computers and servers has already been purchased and installed at the committee within the frame of the project.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.
