Azerbaijani brand ASAN (Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations), based on the principles of efficiency, transparency, ethical attitude, responsibility and convenience, is highly appreciated by international experts.
An international association of ASAN is being created, Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations, said at a press conference dedicated to the UN Public Service Forum, which will be held in Baku on June 24-26,.
In his words, the association will be created on the initiative of the ASAN Service in cooperation with Indonesia, Montenegro, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and other countries. The number of international members of the association will grow.
He noted that the purpose of the association is to share the experience of the ASAN Service with other participants.
Mehdiyev also stressed that the main objectives of the UN Public Service Forum include government regulation, advanced models for the provision of public services, holding discussions on the use of innovations in this area, as well as the exchange of work experience.
“The forum is expected to be attended by ministers of public services and government regulation of various countries, as well as heads of organizations in the private sector and representatives of academic circles. The forum will consist of plenary sessions, seminars and other events,” he said.
The chairman also added that awards of the competition organized by the UN in the provision of services in five categories among the organizations of 11 countries will also be presented.
In addition, the signing of cooperation agreements between the State Agency and a number of international organizations is expected.
UN has been organizing this forum since 2003. It’s noteworthy that ASAN received an award from the UN on providing services to citizens in 2015.
ASAN is a government agency that provides unified management of service delivery centers, coordination, monitors and evaluates the activities of government employees operating in service centers, integrates the information bases of government agencies, speeds up the process of organizing electronic services, as well as improves the management system in this area.
The purpose of creation of ASAN Service centers is to reduce the additional costs of funds and time spent by citizens, achieve courteous treatment and compliance with ethical rules in relation to citizens, increase the level of professionalism, strengthen trust in government structures, increase transparency, strengthen the fight against corruption, provide wider use of electronic services and strengthen institutional reforms carried out in this area.
