Roaming tariffs to decrease during Baku Games 2015

International roaming may be reduced during the first European Games which will be held in Baku in June 2015.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies is preparing proposals to reduce the cost of roaming.
The issue was discussed at the ministry during a
meeting of the managing committee on the preparation for the games,
the ministry said.
Ali Abbasov, the Minister of Communications and High Technologies,
said the issue of reducing roaming rates between Azerbaijan and
Russia will soon find a positive resolution, and noted the
importance of solving this issue with other countries.
Abbasov instructed public and private entities to do
everything necessary to ensure the sustainability and quality of
the telecommunications infrastructure at the highest level during
the games.
Azerbaijan's network telecommunications infrastructure will undergo
a thorough testing for information security and resistance to cyber
attacks.
The registration of the participants' mobile devices, supply of
internet services in places where the games will be held, and other
issues were also discussed at the meeting.
Contracts with contractors who will be involved in organizing
services and supporting this event will be signed in the next few
weeks.
Abbasov also noted the significance of the accurate distribution of
responsibilities between the customer and the performer.
Europe's first senior multi-sport event will consist of more than 6,000 athletes competing in 19 sports from the 49 countries affiliated to the European Olympic Committees in Baku on June 12-28.
The program of Baku Games include aquatics, archery, athletics, badminton, basketball 3x3, beach soccer, boxing, canoe sprint, cycling, fencing, gymnastics, judo, karate, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, volleyball, and wrestling.
