In the thick of global economic turbulence, Azerbaijan appeared to buck the trend in 2024. Thanks to large-scale state investments and a surge in the non-oil sectors — construction, ICT, transport, and tourism — the country's economy grew at a robust 4.1 percent, a considerable jump from the modest 1.4 percent in 2023. The non-oil sector alone registered a striking 6.2 percent increase.
