The board of Russian Railways JSC decided to change the level of tariffs for rail transportation of fruit from Uzbekistan.

Thus, in particular, until 2019, a discount of 50 percent will be imposed on the tariff for the import of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan to Russia in refrigerated rolling stock.

"This reduction is in effect provided that Russian Railways is exempted from the charge for using the refrigerator rolling stock belonging to the states involved in transportation. The coefficient comes into effect in accordance with the established procedure and is valid until December 31, 2018," the press service of the company reported.

Uzbek fruit products under the UzAgro brand were recently sent to Russia for the first time. Currently, agreements on the organization of a simplified procedure for the conduct of customs operations when moving goods and vehicles, as well as on simplifying the phytosanitary control procedure between the two countries are in effect (green corridor).

Trade and economic cooperation between the two states, especially in the field of agriculture, the supply of food products and industrial cooperation, is developing dynamically.

By the end of the year Uzbekistan intends to reach the $5 billion trade turnover level with Russia. Moreover, this year Russia has come out on top among Uzbekistan’s foreign trade partners.

In 2016, bilateral trade exceeded $4 billion. Uzbekistan exports natural gas, cars, chemical, textile, fruit and vegetable products to Russia. Black and nonferrous metals, wood, oil and oil products, electrical engineering, paper products and pharmaceuticals are imported from Russia.

There are 961 enterprises in Uzbekistan with participation of Russian capital and 569 enterprises created with participation of investors from Uzbekistan in Russia.
