Central bank releases gold coin with Heydar Aliyev’s image
The Azerbaijani Central Bank (CBA) has released the third generation of commemorative gold coins dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The coins were presented during the conference on 'Heydar Aliyev and the financial-credit system: Achievements and Challenges', on Friday.
The commemorative coins were made of high quality gold at the UK's Royal Mint.
Heydar Aliyev's portrait was depicted amid the crescent and eight-pointed star.
"The coins meet the most aesthetic requirements and international standards," CBA board chairman Elman Rustamov said while delivering a speech at the coin presentation. The coins are decorated with elements of traditional ornament."
The CBA released three types of coins: a mass of one troy ounce (31.21 grams of gold), 10 troy ounces (313 grams) and a mass of one kilogramme.
