Iran interested in boosting ties with Azerbaijani businessmen

Iran is interested in intensifying its relations with Azerbaijani businessmen, the economic affairs advisor for the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan, Mohammad Taghi Rezaian, has said.
During a recent meeting with the head of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) of Azerbaijan, Mammad Musayev, Rezaian said one of the policy priorities of the new Iranian government is the development of economic relations with foreign countries, including Azerbaijan. Rezaian also noted the importance of transit links between the two countries.
In turn, Musayev informed the Iranian diplomat about the Confederation's activity, adding that it is ready to assist Iranian organizations seeking to become its members.
In conclusion of the meeting, a suggestion was made to establish a bilateral cooperation council on the basis of the Iranian side's consent.
Iran's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen said earlier that the trade turnover between the two countries is $500 million, adding that his country hopes it will increase due to the planned work.
