Azerbaijan ranks 3rd at European Championships
Azerbaijani boxer Ruslan Rustamov (46 kg) grabbed a gold medal after beating Ukrainian Oleg Chulyachetyev at the European Junior Continental Championships in Anapa, Russia.
Another Azerbaijani boxer Bakhtiyar Gazibayov (57 kg) lost to Russian Anatoliy Zhirnov in the final to win silver, while his team-mates Parviz Guliyev (63 kg), Rasim Chobanli (70 kg), Haji Dilbazov (75 kg) and Mahammad Abdullayev (80 kg) gained bronze medals, AzerTag state news agency reported.
Azerbaijan ranked the 3rd following Russia and Ukraine in the overall medal table.
The championship saw participation of 254 boxers from 33 countries.
