Junior Azerbaijani female boxers compete in the EUBC European Youth and Junior Championships in Assisi, Italy on July 20-27.
Aliya Velizade weighing in at 54kg today will face Russian Stephanie Sultanov, while Maryam Jabrayilova at 64kg will clash with Irish Kiara Sheedy on July 23, and Alina Hajiyeva at 81kg will play against Ukrainian Anastasia Stankevich on July 27,AzerTag state news agency reported.
Among referees, Azerbaijan will be represented by Jeyhun Gadirli
The tournament brings together 100 fighters from 26 countries. The European Boxing Confederation decided to launch the event for the women's youth and junior boxers after the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
