Azerbaijan's judoka wins silver in int'l tournament

Azerbaijan's judoka Elkhan Mammadov became the second on the final day of the Grand Slam tournament, which was held in Baku-based on May 9-11.
Organized by the Azerbaijan's Judo Federation, the event commemorated the 91st anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The tournament, held in "Sarhadchi" Sport Olympic Center, brought together 290 fighters from 40 countries.
Securing the victory in the men's 100kg weight category,
Mammadov has added silver to his team's medal haul.
Azerbaijan finished the tournament with a haul of one gold (Orkhan
Safarov), two silver (Vugar Shirinli and Elkhan Mammadov) and three
bronze medals (Kifayat Gasimova, Rustam Orujov and Mammadali
Mekhdiyev).
The competition was held in accordance with the latest IJF SOR, IJF Refereeing Rules and IJF Anti-Doping Rules. The total prize fund of the sports event amounted to US$ 156,000
