Military helicopter crash kills 8 in Turkey
A military helicopter crashed in Turkey's Hakkari province, the Milliyet newspaper reported May 13.
Eight people, including two pilots were killed as a result of the air crash.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
Reportedly, the helicopter was heading from the military airfield to take part in the operation against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives. The UN and the European Union listed the PKK as a terrorist organization.
