Poland`s Kaczynski offers new bloc
Polish President Lech Kaczynski has offered to set up a new bloc of
central and Eastern European states.
Kaczynski told the respected Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita that these countries have amply expanded their relations in the past years, which underscores the need for their union. He said this was once again proven after the presidents of Poland, Latvia, Estonia, and Ukraine paid a joint visit to Tbilisi to give support to Georgia, which has faced a military incursion by Russia.
The initiative to establish the new bloc is supported by US President George Bush.
