The quakes epicenter was near Borazjan, around 60km from Bushehr, where Iran has its Russian-built nuclear reactor.

This strong earthquake was followed by twenty one aftershocks, the strongest one measured 3.8 on Richter scale.

Tremors have also been recorded in other southern cities of Iran but no damage has been reported.
