Three prisoners executed in Iran
Three prisoners were hanged in the Iranian Rasht city prison of the Gilan province, Fars news agency reported.
The Iranian court has sentenced them to death penalty by hanging due to drug carrying and murder charges.
One of the sentenced men has been sentenced due to carrying 15.329 kilograms of crack, with selling 5 kilograms of that amount.
Another man has also been sentenced due to carrying and selling 15.209 kilograms of crack.
Murder, rape, armed robbery and the trafficking of drugs in quantities in excess of five kilograms are among crimes punishable by death penalty in Iran.
Iran ranks second, after China, in terms of the number of executions in the world. During the last 6 months, more than 150 people were hanged in Iran in total.
