Energy coop in focus of Kazakh- Indonesian talks

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his Indonesian counterpart Susilo Yudhoyono discussed the main aspects of developing the bilateral ties in Astana, the Kazakh presidential press-service reported.

The sides discussed the economic cooperation in such promising areas as power generation, mining, oil and gas, telecommunications, engineering, tourism and others.

The presidents also discussed the expansion of the legal framework of bilateral cooperation.

Moreover Nazarbayev and Yudhoyono exchanged views on the international agenda and raised the issues of participating in the activities of the international organizations.

"The Indonesian President's visit is a significant occurrence and we are confident that it will give a powerful impetus to further cooperation between the two countries. The activation of all-round cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels is very important. Nothing hinders development of trade-economic, transport cooperation, cultural and humanitarian exchanges. We have all conditions for this development," Nazarbayev said.

"The economies of our countries are developing dynamically, that is a good basis for intensifying the bilateral cooperation. We will continue to discuss issues of cooperation in the field of investment, security, energy, education and culture," Yudoyono said in his turn.
