Georgian tour companies lose $0.5mln due to Egypt events

Georgian tour companies were forced to cancel trips to Egypt due to the riots in Egypt and their losses constituted about $500, 000, Radio Commersant reported with the reference to the Georgian Tourism Association.

Representative of "Tour Dji" company Mamuka Djikiya said that most of the clients cancelled their reservation and they had to redirect these tourists to Turkey. That is why the company is at a big loss currently.

The "Intercontinental" company also reports about serious financial problems. In particular, only 10 tourists of 140 flew to Egypt.

Earlier, the Foreign Affairs Ministry called Georgian citizens to refrain from traveling to Egypt.
