By Aynur Jafarova

Financing of the joint projects ongoing in Iran and Kazakhstan was the main subject of the talks between the head of Iran's National Development Fund Mohammad Reza Farzin and Kazakh Ambassador Baghdad Amriyov in Tehran, IRNA news agency reported.

During the meeting, Farzin emphasized the need to expand cooperation in energy, agriculture, transport and mining sectors.

The sides highlighted the necessity to finance joint projects using the national development funds of the two countries.

In June 2012, Kazakh Transport and Communications Minister Askar Zhumagaliyev said that Kazakhstan's trade turnover with Iran will soon reach $5 billion per year.

He made this statement in Astana at a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi held on the sidelines of the 12th meeting of the Iran-Kazakhstan joint economic commission.

Salehi, for his part, announced the readiness of Iranian companies to expand operations in Kazakhstan in the transportation, oil and gas sectors.
