Armenian ex-president says may return to ‘big politics’
Former Armenian president Robert Kocharyan has said he does not rule out his return to "big politics", Armenian Mediamax news agency reported.
Kocharyan's possible return to politics is reportedly one of the main topics on the domestic political agenda after Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin announced his plan to run for president again in 2012.
Kocharyan said in an interview with Mediamax that three factors may contribute to his return. First is the lack of tangible and sustainable improvement in the Armenian economy and welfare, and as a result, growing public resentment and migration. Second is the demand of different layers of society for his return to politics. Third is confidence that he is able to drastically improve the situation in Armenia.
