Armenia-Turkey border to stay open during NATO drills: reports

15 July 2010 10:02 (UTC+04:00)
The Armenian-Turkish border that has been shut for nearly two decades will reportedly temporarily reopen in light of NATO exercises to be held in Armenia from September 11-17.
During the Armenia-2010 exercises, which aim to practice delivery of humanitarian aid to sites hit by natural disasters, the border will remain open to allow a convoy of military vehicles to cross Turkey, Panarmenian news agency reported referring to the Turkish Radical newspaper.
19 countries will take part in the drills, which will be held as part of NATO’s Partnership for Peace (PfP).*
