CBI: Americans can open bank accounts in Iran

Americans, who live in Iran can open bank accounts in the
country, lawyer with the Central Bank of Iran's (CBI) Legal Studies
Department Hamid Ghanbari, said on March 6.
He said that according to the United States Department of the
Treasury's recent issued allowance, American citizens with
residence in Iran can open bank accounts in the country, IRNA
reported.
He said that nuclear-related US sanctions on Iran have been removed
entirely and the remained sanctions are those imposed before 2006
and don’t have any relation to the nuclear issue.
Iran and P5+1 group, including US, France, UK, Russia, China plus
Germany reached a nuclear deal, which was implemented in January
2016.
The deal lifted nuclear-related sanctions on Iran.
