Iran to receive 2014 FIFA World Cup frozen assets

Iran will receive its frozen assets that it should have received
for its ascendance to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
“I was told this week that the problem has been fixed and the money
will be transferred soon,” Sports Minister Masoud Soltafifar said,
IRIB news agency reported February 8.
Former minister of sports Mahmoud Goudarzi said in August 2015 that
Iran was to receive a total of $10 million, adding that by that
time only $1 million of the money had remained frozen.
