Kazakhstan will provide a platform to discuss Iran's nuclear program in 2017, said Yerlan Idrisov, Kazakh Foreign Minister.

“The next September, we will provide a platform for the two-round negotiations on the nuclear program that will be a platform to reach peace and agreement between the six countries [P5+1] and Iran,” noted Idrissov addressing a conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence, RIA Novosti reported.

The official also stated that as a country, refusing nuclear weapon of the former Soviet Union, Kazakhstan continues its efforts to ensure nuclear security both in the region and the world.

Iran and the world powers concluded a historical deal on the resolution of a long-simmering problem on Iran’s nuclear program in Mid-2015.

The negotiations held since 2006 resulted in the adoption of JCPOA which limits Iran's capacity to manufacture a nuclear weapon in exchange for relief from certain economic and financial sanctions previously imposed on Iran by the UN Security Council, the U.S., and the EU.

Under this agreement, Iran agreed to eliminate its stockpile of medium-enriched uranium enriched, cut its stockpile of low-enriched uranium by 98%, reduce the number of its gas centrifuges by about two-thirds for 13 years and for the next 15 years, Iran will only enrich uranium up to 3.67%.
