Top Kyrgyz official to discuss gas supplies in Kazakhstan

Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Tayirbek Sarpashev will visit
Kazakhstan to discuss gas supplies, Vecherni Bishkek newspaper
quoted deputy mayor of the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek Torobekov Imashov
as saying on Monday, Trend news agency reported.
Earlier KazTransGas, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan's state oil and gas
company KazMunaiGas, partially limited gas supply to Kyrgyzstan due
to anomalous drop in air temperature, limited supply of Uzbek gas,
as well as increased gas consumption in the south of Kazakhstan.
KazTransGas supplies natural gas to Kyrgyzstan despite
Kyrgyzystan's total debt worth $26.6 million. Earlier KazTransGas
repeatedly notified Kyrgyz counterpart about limited resources of
natural gas and a possible decrease in supply.
According to Imashov, the period of resuming the Kazakh gas
supplies in a full volume has not been defined yet.
"The Energy Minister told me that he had spoken on the issue with Prime Minister and the decision was taken on Tayirbek Sarpashev's trip to Kazakhstan for the talks on the gas issue," Imashov said.
According to Imashov, due to the restricted gas supplies from Kazakhstan, the suburbs of the city of Bishkek have no gas.
