SOCAR oil product exports down
Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR exported 842,560 tons of oil products from its own refineries in January-September compared to about 1.1 million tons in the same period of 2011, SOCAR said.
In 2011 SOCAR exported about 1.45 million tons of oil products compared to over 1.8 million tons in 2010.
Petroleum products are produced in Azerbaijan at two refineries in the capital Baku with total capacity of 20 million tons a year. Both refineries are part of SOCAR, which annually refines approximately seven million tons of oil from onshore and offshore fields at its own expense.
