Azeri energy firm eyes Ukraine refinery
Azerbaijan`s state oil company SOCAR is considering
purchase of shares in Ukraine`s Kherson Oil Refinery, SOCAR
President Rovnag Abdullayev was quoted by Lenta.ru website as
saying.
``Our specialists are currently in talks with the company`s leadership. We are talking about buying controlling stock, installing new facilities,`` Abdullayev said.
The Kherson refinery is owned by Ukraine`s Kontinium group of companies. Its representatives said earlier that Kontinium was negotiating with a number of companies to draw funds for an overhaul of the plant.
SOCAR opened a representation in Kyiv on Monday.
