AIDA, UNDP set to boost ties

Ashraf Shikhaliyev, the director of Azerbaijan International Development Agency has met with Michael O`Neill, the assistant UN Secretary General and head of Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy of the UNDP.
Shikhaliyev highlighted the activity of and international projects realized by the AIDA.
The sides exchanged views over a number of spheres, including
further expansion of cooperation between the AIDA and the UNDP in
the fight against Ebola, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign
Ministry.
Shikhaliyev has also met with Xavier Michon , the deputy executive
secretary of the UN Capital Development Fund.
The sides discussed cooperation in a number of fields, including
ICT and finance services.
The meeting between the head of the AIDA and assistant UNDP
administrator Magdy Martinez-Soliman discussed mutual cooperation,
including fight against Ebola.
AIDA, established under the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry in
September 2011, is a responsible organ for provision of
international humanitarian and development assistance by Azerbaijan
and coordinates activities of relevant state agencies in this
field.
AIDA's annual budget is formed by relevant allocations from the state budget. Its activities are structured in line and concurrent with the foreign policy of Azerbaijan.
