Caucasus’s highest mosques to appear in Baku

Azerbaijan's biggest mosque which is supposed to be the highest one in the Caucasus region will be opened soon.
The mosque has four minarets and nine additional domes. A special elevator will be set for the mosque because of its 60 meter height minarets. In addition, a waistband decorated with the Koran's suras will give a sacred beauty to the mosque.
The mosque which will be able to host 2,000 people consists of separate worship halls for women and men. The main salon of the building is 900 square meters. The salon allocated to women is about 350 square meters.
For the convenience of prayers, four escalators for men and two for women will be installed at the entrance and exit doors of the mosque.
The total area of the building will be 1,3 hectare. The ground will include a parking and some other special places in near future.
The mosque is being built in Binagadi district of Baku. The construction of the mosque began two years ago with the budget of 10 million manats.
There are various monumental buildings of the ancient and medieval period in Baku and the new mosque will take a leading place among them and will beautify the city with its greatness.
Mosques of Baku are distinguished with their simple architecture and great design.
Goy Mosque, build in 1912, stands out of it special harmony and
elegance of proportions. Bibi Heybat Mosque, the complex, which in
addition to mosques and tombs includes graves of respected people
is one of the most significant monuments of Islamic architecture in
Azerbaijan. Taza Pir Mosque is also one of those fascinating
mosques of Baku, the construction of which was started in 1905 and
was finished in 1914.

a set of different religious and faiths, spread among the ethnic
groups living in the country and in the territory of
Azerbaijan.
