SAM joins OSCE Academic Network

The Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan (SAM) has become a member of the OSCE Academic Network,AzerTag state news agency reported.
The OSCE Academic Network was established in June 2013, at a meeting between the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier and representatives of various think tanks in Vienna. The main purpose of this newly established entity would be to hold discussions on goals and challenges facing the OSCE and to provide academic support to these discussions in the framework of the organization.
One of the objectives is to contribute to the process of Helsinki+40, intended to facilitate the OSCE reforms.
Today, the OSCE Academic Network consists of total thirty think tanks from twenty seven countries. The accession negotiations between SAM and the OSCE took place in December 2013, during the OSCE Ministerial cabinet summit in Kiev.
