Gala-Shuvalan- Pirallahi highway to be ready next year
The Gala-Shuvalan- Pirallahi highway is planned to be commissioned in 2014, Azeryolservis under the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry reported.
According to the company, the length of the reconstructed Gala-Shuvalan- Pirallahi highway will be 21.7 kilometres with a width of 28 metres.
A 6.9 kilometre section will consist of six lanes, while a 14.8 kilometre section will have four lanes.
The project suggests construction of two road junctions and one tunnel along the highway. Currently, the earth work has been completed on a 14.8 kilometre road section. A lower layer of asphalt concrete pavement was laid at a 12.2 kilometre section. It is planned to complete laying the asphalt concrete pavement without the top layer at the 14.8 kilometre road section by late 2013, the press service said.
