Goychay to host 8th Pomegranate Feast

Azerbaijan's Goychay region will host the 8th Pomegranate Feast (Nar Bayramı) on November 2.
The executive branch of the region reported that numerous
clean-up and landscaping works are being done, streets and
sidewalks are being repaired, and fences are being painted at the
central streets of Goychay city.
The square in which the Pomegranate Feast will be held is decorated
with various posters, signs, and plates.
Furthermore, the staffs of the district culture house, dance and song groups, jugglers, magicians, and athletes are preparing performances based on the theme of the feast.
Rehearsals are carried out at the district culture house and also in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center, and the members of the dance and song groups and the musicians receive new instructions every day.
An organizing committee and an action plan have been established for the Pomegranate Feast. A fair displaying the products of the companies involved in producing pomegranates, an exhibition of the different varieties of pomegranate grown by peasant farmers, and an exhibition of products made from them, as well as various contests and games will be held during the celebration.
The guests will taste skillfully hand-made pomegranate juice, pomegranate wine, nardancha (a sour product made by mixing pomegranate seeds with sugar), and pomegranate seeds. The event will also feature the largest pomegranate that has been produced.
State and government officials, MPs, ambassadors of foreign countries, heads of local authorities in the surrounding districts, and local and foreign businessmen will attend the festival.
New novelties will be introduced at the 8th Pomegranate Feast which aims at popularizing Goychay pomegranates in the world.
The Feast will come to an end with the performances of well-known artists and fireworks.
