President Aliyev visits several regions (UPDATE)

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited the country's Yevlakh region on September 10.

The President started his visit by laying flowers at a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the central park.

Head of Yevlakh Region Executive Authority Goja Samadov informed the President about the construction work in the Heydar Aliyev Park.

The President inaugurated an airport in Yevlakh as part of his visit to the region.

The Head of State also met with the local public.

President Aliyev viewed a stand with the layout of the airport.

President of Azerbaijan Airlines Jahangir Asgarov briefed the President about the history of the airport.

Under the instructions of President Aliyev, the airport was renovated with a new runway, a ramp and taxiways were built, and a terminal and an auxiliary building refurbished.

The construction work, which began in March this year, has allowed to rebuild the airport to high standards.

The airport has a passenger zone, check-in desks, a cafe, and offices for the airport staff. The activities included improvement of the area around the terminal, construction of the 60-slot parking, and a substation. The airport has been provided with sophisticated equipment including a meteosystem and a communications system.

President Aliyev also attended the opening of Yevlakh City Central Hospital.

Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev told the Head of State that the construction of the building began last March.

The hospital occupies a total area of 4.3 hectares.

The President officially inaugurated the Baku-Kazakh highway - Samadabad-Garamammadli-Garamanli-Goyuk highway.

President Aliyev issued an order on allocation of 3 million manats from the President's Reserve Fund for the construction of the 25 km long highway, which started last July.

The road will connect 11 residential areas with a total population of 8,300 people.

Afterwards, President Aliyev visited a residential area for 866 IDP families in Barda.

The Head of State was informed that the facility, which consists of 15 five-storey apartment blocks, was the 61st residential area built for IDPs in Azerbaijan. The residential area occupies a total area of 16 hectares. The construction of the facility started in February 2012 and ended in September 2013.

The Azerbaijani President also viewed a 280-seat kindergarten in the residential area.

Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov informed the President that the facility had been provided with all the necessary equipment.

President Aliyev then visited the Aghdam district comprehensive school No1 for IDPs.

Some 540 pupils will receive education at the school.

The Head of State then visited the house of Aghdam IDP Safura Huseynova, where they had tea.

Huseynova thanked the President for the conditions created for IDPs.

President Aliyev also visited the country's Naftalan region on September 10.

The Head of State started his visit by placing flowers at a monument to Heydar Aliyev in the central park.

Head of Naftalan Region Executive Authority Natig Aslanov informed the President about the reconstruction work in the Heydar Aliyev Park.

The central park, which occupies a total area of 4 hectares, has a greenery area, a fountain, a modern lighting system and benches.

The President also attended the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Naftalan region.

The construction of the facility started in August 2012 and ended in September 2013. The two-storey building of the Center covers a total area of 722 square meters. There are photo stands reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life and activities in the center.

The Heydar Aliyev Center has a 120-seat conference hall, an e-library, an internet room, and a photo gallery. It will offer foreign language courses.

President Aliyev also attended a ceremony to start supply of drinking water to the city of Naftalan.

The Head of the State first met members of the general public.

Chairman of Azersu company Gorkhmaz Huseynov informed President Ilham Aliyev that the old water supply and sewage system of the city was built in 1970.

About 81 percent of the 9,000 population of Naftalan and adjacent villages were supplied with drinking water in a centralized manner. The water supply system is 47km in length. Drinking water was supplied to private homes continuously and to apartment buildings on a schedule of four to five hours a day.

The project on the reconstruction of the water supply and sewage systems of Naftalan was worked out by Azerbaijani Government and Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The president was told that the project had been prepared in accordance with the instructions of the president and in an effort to resolve these problems. The project on the reconstruction of water supply and sanitation system of Naftalan has been designed with a view to future development up to 2035 and is intended to improve water and sanitation services provided to 13,000 residents of the city, and the villages of Gasimbeyli and Gashalti-Garagoyunlu.

The project uses the Balligaya water line as a source of drinking water supply to the city of Naftalan and surrounding villages. A water intake installation with sand filters with a capacity of 3,000 cubic meters per day has been built to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water to the city.

After reviewing the project, President Aliyev launched the installation to start supply of drinking water to the city of Naftalan.

President Aliyev inspected the construction work at the Qarabag sanatorium in Naftalan region.

The Head of State was informed that the sanatorium covered a total area of 5 hectares. The construction work started here in 2012.

The five-storey building of the Qarabag sanatorium will have 132 rooms. All conditions will be created here for local and foreign guests` rest.

President Aliyev also visited Gadabay region.

The Head of State started his visit by placing flowers at a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the central park.

Head of Gadabay Region Executive Authorities Ramiz Yedigarov informed the president about the landscaping in the park.

The president attended the opening of the Ashig Music School in Gadabay region.

Prior to the opening ceremony, the Head of the State met members of the general public.

On behalf of the Gadabay's Ashig music performers, President Aliyev was presented with a saz (folk musical instrument).

The Head of the State made a speech at the event.

Professor Maharram Gasimli thanked the Head of the State for his attention to development of Gadabay.

A monument to Ashig Alasgar was erected in the yard of the facility. The two-storey building has a library, a reading room, a 120-seat assembly hall, a recording studio, a make-up room, a canteen and a museum of the Ashig music art.

President Aliyev also attended the opening of a bridge over the Cholpan River in Gadabay.

Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed the president that the construction of the bridge started in November, 2012, and ended in September, 2013.

The facility is 95 meters in length, and 14 meters in width.

The Head of State watched a documentary on the construction work and landscaping in Gadabay. The president was also informed about the newly remodeled Gadabay-Novosaratovka-Garavalilar highway.

The two-lane Gadabay-Novosaratovka section of the highway is 27 km in length, and 7 meters in width. The reconstruction work has already ended on this stretch.

The two-lane Novosaratovka-Garavalilar stretch of the road will be 29 km in length, and 6 meters in width. The reconstruction work is underway here.

President Aliyev opened a new plant of the Azerbaijan International Mining Company Limited in Gadabay on September 10.

The president was informed that the construction of the plant started in 2012, and ended in June, 2013. The plant`s capacity is 100-150 tons of ore in hour.

The Head of State watched production process. The facility is supplied with foreign-made technology. The plant covers a total area of 14.4 square meters. The plant will produce an estimated 32,000 ounces of gold.
