EU officials to visit Azerbaijan early Oct.
The European Union official in charge of the member states of Eastern Partnership, a program aiming to boost the bloc’s cooperation with its ex-Soviet partners, will head a delegation on its visit to Azerbaijan in early October.
The goal of John Krayer’s visit is to join the next round of talks on an EU-Azerbaijan association agreement, due in Baku on October 5-6.
Azerbaijan will be represented at the talks by Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev.
The negotiations on an association agreement began in July 2010 and cover political and economic issues, human rights and trade.
