Azeris, Africans clash in Russia; one injured
ST. PETERSBURG – Azerbaijanis and Africans have clashed in St. Petersburg, Russia, and a Kenyan national was hospitalized with severe injuries after the fight, Russian media quoted law enforcement sources as saying.
Doctors said the man suffered a brain trauma and stab wounds in his thigh.
Investigators did not confirm allegations that the fight occurred on ethnic grounds. The police ascertained that the Kenyan and his friend, who met up with Azerbaijanis, had an argument over money. Clubs and knives were used during the fight.
