Azeri FM meets leading think-tanks’ execs
WASHINGTON – Visiting the United States, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on Thursday met with the prominent specialists on the Eurasian region – Mrs. Fiona Hill, director of the Brooking Institution`s Center for US and Europe, Cory Welt, Associate Director, Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies of the George Washington University, Thomas de Waal, senior associate with the Russia and Eurasia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and Glen Howard, director of the Jamestown Foundation.
Mammadyarov noted that Azerbaijan pursues independent policy. The country plays important role in realization of regional cooperation, in particular the energy and transport projects. The minister also gave comprehensive information on the negotiation process on settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh.
