Reports on Czech firms` projects in Karabakh dismissed
BAKU – The Azerbaijani government has dismissed Armenian reports claiming that Czech companies plan to implement investment projects in the occupied Nagorno Karabakh region where ethnic Armenians are running a self-proclaimed republic, the foreign ministry told AssA-Irada.
The Azerbaijani embassy in the Czech Republic has scrutinized the recent Armenian media reports saying that Czech Sana Suafi and Cheshski Dvor companies were allegedly eyeing investment projects in the Azerbaijani rebel region and that their representatives had visited the occupied territories. The scrutiny revealed that a company titled Sana Suafi was not listed in the Czech Republic’s trade register. Moreover, it was ascertained that Senik Djulakyan, who introduced himself as Cheshski Dvor’s official representative, is not employed by the company.
Nagorno Karabakh has been occupied by Armenian armed forces since a 1994 cease-fire ended a war that killed an estimated 30,000 people and ousted about one million Azerbaijanis from their homes. Years of peace talks have brought few tangible results.
