The return of the IDPs to their homelands, as well as the reconstruction of those territories, is among the top priorities for Azerbaijan, Azernews reports, citing Labor and Social Security Minister Sahil Babayev.

Babayev made the remarks at the Baku International Conference of Ombudsmen, held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Ombudsman's Office on October 19 in Baku.

Social and employment institutions are an essential aspect of human rights, and Azerbaijan is a country that prioritizes social policy, the minister emphasized.

Babayev underlined that Azerbaijan is one of the countries exemplifying rapid growth in terms of both social and employment indications.

The reconstruction of territories liberated from the Armenian occupation and their economic integration into the whole of the country, as well as the region’s economic system, are among the top priorities for Azerbaijan, the minister stressed.

One of the main goals is the return of displaced persons to the liberated regions and the start of rehabilitation there, he added.

"Azerbaijan is successfully carrying out these activities. Our citizens have already settled in Aghali village. They have been provided with state services through Smart DOST, and ASAN Service centers. These activities are being carried out for people, who will move to Susha, the services will also be available in Aghdam, Tartar, and other areas through regional services,” Babayev emphasized.

The key task will be to protect the rights of the people who live in these places so that the inhabitants can contribute to the development of the region. The biggest challenge for the state is to ensure the employment, social, and other rights of the population that will relocate to the liberated territories, the minister added.
