Construction of Azeri oil fund’s high-rise building kicks off
The groundbreaking of a new building of the State Oil Fund was held
in Baku on Tuesday. President Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony,
which took place on the day marking the tenth anniversary of SOFAR,
the body that holds Azerbaijan’s revenues from crude exports.
Under the construction project, the 23-story building will stand 117 meters tall, and even 140 meters with its beacon, while its total space, including the underground car park, will be 27,000 square meters.
Greenery will be planted, solar batteries installed to generate alternate energy and other cutting-edge technologies applied during the construction operations, bringing the facility into compliance with Green Building standards.
The project has been developed by France’s Inter-art Etudes, while US AECOM company has been selected to provide consulting services.*
