Azerbaijan, Japan eye ways of expanding bilateral ties [PHOTO]
Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Manabu Horii have discussed the ways of developing bilateral relations between the two countries, Azertac reported.
Khalafov described Japan as a reliable partner of Azerbaijan and hailed the Japanese government`s continuous support for the country.
The deputy FM stressed the historical significance of a new contract on the development of Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, hailing the Japanese companies` involvement in this project.
Khalafov also highlighted the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Horii commended the government of Azerbaijan for creating favorable conditions for the Japanese companies. He hailed Azerbaijan`s role in ensuring energy security.
Horii also stressed the necessity of cooperation in GUAM + Japan format.
