$3.4m to be allotted for NGO projects
2.750 million manats ($3.4 million) will be
allocated in 2009 for projects implemented by the Council of State
Support to NGOs.
2 million manats will be used to finance projects submitted by NGOs, while the remaining amount - is to be used for the activity of the secretariat and establishment of international relations, the National NGO Forum said.
Fifteen directions have been determined for the projects to be submitted this year. The maximum value of the projects, due to be presented before February 15, was set at 20,000 manats ($25,000).
The projects, which will be evaluated by a three-member group of experts, will be funded beginning March 1.
