Baku Corner, a fair trade concept project launched by Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva for charitable purposes, has presented a new collection.
The new collection presents phone cases with images of Leyla Aliyeva’s artworks.
Leyla Aliyeva has donated her paintings precisely with a view to support this organization aimed to improve the human welfare.
Upholding globally recognized fair trade principles, Baku Corner offers economic opportunities and direct market access for the artisans from Azerbaijan and the developing world by helping to facilitate the trade of their handcrafted products.
Baku Corner endeavors to contribute by providing fair wages to local artisans’ labor and thereby providing a sustainable market for trading their products, most notably Azerbaijani traditional headscarves, called kelaghayi, woven from fine, soft silk to form a four-cornered shape.
Baku Corner’s store also offers artworks produced by children living in local residential institutions, such as orphanages and children’s homes.
