"Shalom Baku" documentary presented in France
A ceremony to launch a documentary "Shalom Baku" has been held in Strasburg, France, Azertac state news agency reported.
Addressing the event, film director Muriel Levi thanked the Azerbaijani embassy in France for support and provided an insight into life of Jewish people living in Azerbaijan.
The film highlights daily life of Jewish community in Azerbaijan.
The secular state Azerbaijan is overwhelmingly Muslim, however, worshippers of other religions enjoy freedom here, and one can often witness Jewish synagogues and Orthodox and Christian churches and other religious centers functioning freely.
Azerbaijan's Jewish community along with Israel’s Azerbaijan community plays a big role in bilateral relations development. Jews have always lived in Azerbaijan in peace, friendship and mutual trust.
The Azerbaijani Constitution outlaws any type of political, racial, ethnic, national, cultural, religious, or sexual persecution. Today, Azerbaijan is home to many ethnic and religious groups.
