"Colored Reflections" expo underway in Baku

An exhibition titled "Colored Reflections" was kicked off at the "Vadjiya Samedova" Gallery in Baku on May 22.

The exhibition is displaying works of talented young Azerbaijani artists - oil paintings, drawings, engravings and sculpture.

The exhibition, which will be open for visitor until May 28, is co organized by the Azerbaijan Culture and Tourism Ministry, Azerbaijan's Artists Union, company EY, and art studio EmArt.

EY is a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, which has been cooperating with Azerbaijan for 20 years.

Addressing the event, Managing Partner of EY Azerbaijan Ilgar Veliyev said the project aims to support, encourage and inspire young talented Azerbaijani artists.

"The event is not only aim to unite artists, but also to expose them to the most important processes taking place in the world. Such exhibitions are aimed at displaying art works to the public, promoting people's interest and meeting the country's spiritual needs. We are proud of encouraging the talented artists. We recognize the leading role of art in the enrichment of our impressive and diverse culture," he said.

Senior Adviser of the Fine and Decorative Art Sector at the Azerbaijan Culture and Tourism Ministry, Anar Gurbanov praised the presented works.

It was noted the exhibition demonstrates once again that the public interest to the visual arts is increasing day by day.

Head of the art studio EmArt, Emin Gahramanov congratulated exhibitors.

"I am particularly pleased that the project initiated and sponsored by EY company are motivated by the need to support young and talented artists and the necessity of finding new ideas and perspectives," he said.

Works of the artists are displayed through a combination of traditional subjects, compositions and techniques, reflecting modernity and at the same time give a sense of strength and grace.

The opening ceremony was marked with a master class conducted by artists. Using a wide range of textures, colors and lines, the artists created a composition on canvas, consisting of three collages.
