Azerbaijan National Museum of Art is holding an exhibition of Lia Shvelidze (Georgia) and Inna Kostina (Azerbaijan) until May 4.
Called "Line and Paint", the two well-known artists' exhibition displays paintings by Shvelidze and graphics and batik works by Kostina.
The creativity of Kostina expressed in graphics and batik is characterized by a bright palette of saturated colors with prevailing cold tones.
Shvelidze's works picture wonderful scenes from Georgia and the emotional world of graceful Georgian women, which creates a feeling of contact with beauty.
Shvelidze, daughter of famous artist Bejan Shvelidze, is a graduate of the Tbilisi Academy of Arts, and has participated in many international art exhibitions in different countries.
In Baku, she presented her work from series such as "Weddings in Georgia", "Women" and "Laughter", which included paintings created on the "My Unknown Sisters" theme.
Kostina's creativity is familiar to art-lovers both in Azerbaijan and abroad, as she has already took part in about 250 exhibitions. Her works - paintings, as well as pictures made in batik technique- are kept in museums and private collections in many countries.
In "Line and Paint", Kostina has presented 40 graphic works under the name "Istanbul Tales" which are about personal impressions of the unique city, four collages with the same technique, and paintings titled "Gilavar".
A series of 12 hot batiks and a canvas is also awaiting visitors at the exhibition.
