Baku hosts dance championship among children and juniors

Baku Dance Championship among children and juniors was held in Azerbaijan's State Song Theater named after Rashid Behbudov.

Organized by Azerbaijan's Modern and Social Dance Association (MSDAA) in collaboration with Azerbaijan's Youth Union and dedicated to the Youth Day, the tournament brought together over 400 participants from Baku.

As a result of the competition, Maryam Abdullayeva, junior duo Aliyev Nurlan and Luchiya Aleshkevic, and "Jam SS" Dance Show Club came out as winners in the baby show category. First places in the folklore stylization category took "Rovesnik" dance studio, "Shergin Ulduzlari", "Natig" dance studio, and "Hile" ensemble.

Moreover, "Sirdash" club, "Jam SS" Dance Show Club, "Tebessum" ensemble, Rena Gafarli, junior duo - Nazrin Aliyeva and Fatima Agaeva, "4 YOU" dance studio, duo - Besheret Agalarova and Vladimir Grishin, as well as "ALARM" dance studio and Leyli Mishina came out as winners in the dance show category.

Aylin Huseynli, Natavan Musaeva, duo Gilman Alasgarov and Zakhrakhanum Alasgarova, "Azad" studio, and Rena Gafarli won in the category of folk-ethnics, while Fatima Huseynzade and "ALARM" dance studio won in the category of hip-hop.

President of the MSDAA Aziz Azizov said with each new event, the number of the members is growing, which creates a healthy competition.

"We have held championships in several directions in one day," he said. "Among them were the categories of "baby show", "folklore stylization", "folk-ethnics", "modern", "dance show" and "hip-hop". The second license for the World Dance Olympiad 2014, won by soloist from the ALARM studio Fatima Huseynzade, was issued."

Azizov also added that a number of international events, as well as Azerbaijan Championship, are being prepared.
