Exhibition of artists of the Caspian littoral countries kicked off at the Azerbaijan Union of Artists' Exhibition Hall in Baku on October 7 under the Caspian Sea Biennial conference.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Union of Artists, People's Artist Farhad Khalilov said the first Caspian Sea Biennial conference was held in Baku during the Soviet era.

"The Caspian region is very beautiful and interesting, where it is possible to meet the elements of Eastern and Western cultures, and Baku is the city, where both cultures are reflected," he emphasized.

Then the participants of the conference visited the exhibition, which displays works by artists from five littoral states - Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

The event aims not only to bring together artists, but also to determine the place of the artist in the major processes in the world.

The Caspian Sea Biennial conference, which will run until October 9, is also attended by guests from England and Germany.
