Art festival to start in Azerbaijan early June

An art festival will start in Azerbaijan in early June to increase public interest in art, discover the existing potential and support creative youth.

The event, "Azerbaijan Art Festival-2013", which is being organized by the Baku Creative Center with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, envisions arranging mobile exhibitions and master classes in the cities including the capital Baku as well as regions of the country.

The opening of the art festival and a press conference for the event will take place on June 4 at the Baku Business Center and then the exhibits will be put on display at the Baku Creative Center.

Performance art, drawings and graphic works and sculptures will be showcased during the art festival.

Beginning on June 7, three-day exhibitions and master classes will be held in Salyan, Saatli, Shirvan, Kurdamir, Mingachevir, Sheki, Gakh, Ismayilli, Khachmaz and Sumgayit.

Furthermore, the visitors of the exhibition will get familiar with modern art samples.

Participants of Azerbaijan Art Festival-2013 are Novruz Mammadov, Mammad Rashidov, Erkin Alekberli, Faraj Rahmanov, Gulnara Alinova, Bahruz Kangarli, Anar Huseynzade, Alekber Mammadov, Anar Ismayilzade, Lala Aghayeva, Mehriban Efendi, Gunel Ravilova, Ayten Shirzadova, Pernisa Asgerova and Aysel Amirova.

A short film will be made on the basis of photos and videos taken during all events to be held as part of the festival.

The main purpose of the Baku Creative Center is to promote Azerbaijani culture beyond the country, to formulate PR strategy for the implementation of advanced ideas and to help people materialize their creative ideas.

The general sponsor of the event is Nar Mobile cellular operator and the sponsor is Baku Business Center. Information support will be provided by Trend.Az, Medeniyyet (Culture) TV channel and Аraz FM radio station.
