Azerbaijani capital hosts Korean food festival

An event dedicated to South Korean cuisine was held in Baku on Thursday and joined by members of the Azerbaijani parliament, ambassadors of foreign countries, public representatives and other guests.
South Korean Ambassador Choi Suk-inn said at the opening of the Korean Food Festival that it is aimed to strengthen the cultural ties between the two countries.
"Food is one of the simple ways to promote the notion of culture." he noted.
Speaking about the specifics of Korean dishes, the ambassador said they are low on calories.
He noted that this year saw the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and South Korea.
Addessing the event, deputy chair of the Azerbaijan National Culinary Center, Ceyran Asgarova, said Korean cuisine is presented in Azerbaijan for the second time.
According to Asgarova, such events play an important role in mutual promotion of the two countries' culture and the enhancement of bilateral cooperation.
Afterwards, dishes of the Korean cuisine were presented to the guests.
