Azeri culture presented at US folk festival
The world-famous Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the largest annual cultural event in the United States capital, opened in Washington last week.
At the opening ceremony of the festival, held since 1967, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution Wayne Clough said that Azerbaijan is the only country to bring ``an international taste`` to the festival this year. He expressed gratitude to the U.S.-based Karabakh Foundation for partnership in festivals and organization of the ``Azerbaijani Cosine Tent``, warmly greeting Azerbaijan`s ambassador to the United States Elin Suleymanov. The ``Tent`` offers delicious meals of Azerbaijani cuisine to the visitors from early morning till evening.
Azerbaijani music parties are to be organized as part of the festival as well.
The event will last till June 8.
